Crawl Budget Optimization
Normally if we talk about SEO,
what comes to mind are aspects related to keywords, realization of a specific
content to position it in search engines, On Page elements, among others. But
sometimes, we forget other essential aspects such as the optimization of the
crawl budget that search engines assign to our website.
For this, in this post we want to
answer all your questions about crawlers and how they can help in our SEO
positioning.
What is a crawler?
How does Google find a website?
The main search engines use web crawlers, known as crawlers , to find a site. A
crawler can be defined as software designed to navigate the Internet following
all the links that are found during the crawl, in order to collect all the information
of the pages you have visited and save it on their servers.
Once all the information has been
collected, the crawlers sort it according to different parameters and save it
in its index to then show it to the users. Since Google is the most used search
engine in Spain, in this post we will focus on the Google crawler, named
Googlebot.
This Googlebot is not composed of
a single tracker, but Google uses several trackers on a regular basis to find
different information, therefore, each of these crawlers is focused on a
specific type of information. This can be news, images, videos, mobile, among
others.
What is the Crawl Budget?
Google assigns to its crawlers,
crawl budget, a specific time for the tracking of each website. But how do you
decide how long each crawl budget has to crawl a site? Everything will depend
on the authority , accessibility , quality and speed of the sites.
